About the program

Where did it all start?

Welcome to a space full of women’s power and opportunities!

For 11 years, the Mom Work Foundation has been helping women in their professional development. We support moms in returning to work after a break related to giving birth and raising children. In March 2022, our first assistance program aimed at Ukrainian women – #We Can Do – was created. It showed a great need to support refugee women in navigating the Polish labor market.

This is how the project “Welcome!” was created.

You can take part in the project if:

  • you want to return to work after maternity (or parental) leave or you want a professional change
  • you are a refugee legally residing in Poland (including, in particular, a citizen of Ukraine who came to Poland due to the war conflict and crossed the Polish border after 24.02.2022),
  • you are ready to look for and take up a permanent job,
  • you are ready for action, open to change and motivated to learn,
  • you have the basic competencies to enter the labor market,
  • you are a woman focused on integration, exchange of experiences, sharing and mutual support.

What will you gain by participating in the project?

  • Participation in a stationary workshop and integration meeting
  • Dose of knowledge about the labor market and seeking employment from practitioners (implemented online)
  • Professional mentoring with HR and labor law specialists (online and offline)
  • Access to an English language course (48 hours, from A2 level)
  • Support from other women and space to share experiences

We invite you to join us if:

  • you have made a decision to stay (at least for a minimum of 5 months) in Poland and find a job here
  • you want to find out what the Polish labor market is like and how to navigate it
  • you want to improve your CV, write it from scratch in Polish or English under the guidance of an expert
  • you are looking for legal knowledge related to working in Poland
  • you feel that your English used to be better and it’s time to “dust it off”
  • you want to meet other women from Poland and Ukraine
  • you want to feel the power of a group of women with a common goal and co-create a platform for exchanging invaluable experience
  • you are looking for a group of women who will support you on the path of personal and professional development
  • you have been thinking about your own business, but don’t quite know “how to bite it” (*the module on business will take place in Warsaw)

Our activities take place online, but also stationary!

This will make it easier for you to take advantage of the project activities! All you need is a computer with a camera or other device with internet access.

Do you have children? No problem! During our stationary meetings we provide support of animators.

We will be in four cities in Poland! You will find us in Krakow, Warsaw (even twice!), Wroclaw and Olsztyn.

Each location will host very similar activities – choose the one closest to you. Remember, the program lasts 4 months and for such a time we will meet. Therefore, choose in such a way that you incur the least logistical costs, with the greatest benefit 🙂
All activities carried out during the project are FREE for participants. This is possible thanks to the support of Citi Foundation and Kronenberg Foundation.
